Request for Pilot Research Proposals
The Multicultural Health and Healthcare Research Network invites applications for junior faculty to participate in its Healthcare Quality Scholars Program. The program addresses the need to increase the pipeline of researchers to conduct research on quality of care issues affecting the underserved. The Network will prioritize research on intra-group determinants (acculturation, ethnic subgroup, language preference, demographic factors, etc.) of quality of care in Latino and American Indian populations. The Healthcare Quality Scholars will be financially supported by the Multicultural Health & Healthcare Research Network for 10 months and receive a stipend of $22,530 and travel support to attend the annual Network conference at UCLA. These stipends will be paid directly to the Scholars. The Healthcare Quality Scholars are expected to complete a minimum of one publishable research article based on secondary analysis of appropriate data bases. The articles can be singly or jointly authored with one or more of the senior faculty members from the Network (see list below). Scholars are also expected to participate in monthly web supported research meetings.
